Prepare to go wild in 2013.
Whether the mere mention of their name causes your ear canals to close in a burl of disgust, or open wide to let the music roam free - you can't fault Black Veil Brides in terms of impact. For a band who only released their debut album last year, they've become one of the most talked about names in modern day rock. And it's undeniable that things are only going to get bigger following the release of next year's hotly anticipated album Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones.
One man who knows this all too well is front-man Andy Biersack. He spared us some of his precious time while he was in the UK earlier this month to discuss the band's latest musical venture. "We're excited to release the record," he smiles. "I'm absolutely not nervous. It's such a big step up for us that having other people listen to it is an exciting thing for us. I can't wait for the fans to hear it."
It must be a mutual thing then, because we can't wait to hear it. But what's this we're hearing about punk-rock vibes on the new album?
Are Black Veil Brides ditching the glam? "Honestly, in the terms of the punk-rock thing, I was speaking more of the influence that punk-rock music had on us," he explains, as we breathe a sigh of relief. "My favourite bands growing up were all punk-rock bands and I wanted to get back to a more basic form of song writing," says Andy. "We really thought about the core structures of the songs and worked on our craft as songwriters. The record was never set out to be a punk-rock record; it was more about trying to make the best and most honest Black Veil Brides record we could make."
As if Black Veil Brides haven't given themselves enough work to do in penning the most talked about release of the year, the California rockers are releasing a movie to go with it. Yup, you read correctly! "I think anybody that has the opportunity to make a movie out of their record would jump at the chance," Andy admits, "we have this concept record which is a very in-depth story, and we wanted to visually let people see how we saw in our minds how we were making the record." The movie, titled 'Legion Of The Black' will be released before the album on pay-per-view, and after the album in select cinemas.
Oh, and did we mention Black Veil Brides will also be touring the UK early next year on the Kerrang! Tour? No? Well they are, and it certainly feels like 2013 will be when we start to feel the full force of the glam-metallers' impact. The band's early successes combined with their hunger to play music makes us wonder where this supergroup are going to be in the next couple of years... Headlining arenas? Probably. Taking over the world? Definitely.
